Our Role

Maui Vacation Rental Association represents more than 11,000 vacation rentals across Maui County. We advocate for fair and effective regulation of Short Term Rental Homes (STRH), Bed & Breakfast homes (B&B), and Transient Vacation Rental Condos (TVR).

We work with County government, community stakeholders, and permit holders to establish clear, enforceable rules while preserving the economic benefits vacation rentals bring to Maui.

Why It Matters

The County is continually revising STRH and B&B regulations. If you advertise publicly, enforcement is unavoidable. MVRA helps members navigate permitting, stay compliant, and avoid costly mistakes.

There is strength in numbers. Membership ensures your voice is represented and helps guide policy decisions in a reasonable direction.

Industry Impact

Maui’s STRH and B&B industry contributes roughly 30% of the County’s real property tax revenue and has generated over $7 million for the Affordable Housing Fund since 2018.

MVRA also supports the community directly, contributing more than $50,000 to Maui charities and local initiatives.
